People seem to be doing or wanting to do lamps, lampshades and chandeliers in their wedding decor. Lighting adds all the ambiance to an event & people are starting to realize that. We did it ourselves when we got married in 2006 under a six foot lampshade Chuppah we made in our old factory. We also had giant lampshades as centerpieces on the dinner tables and smaller crystal lamps and fabric shades on the cocktail tables. It really added something special to the decor of our day. Especially because most hotel/reception hall lighting is so generic, in my opinion anyway.
I submitted lighting in wedding decor as a topic for Stylish Weddings & Things LLC because they're doing a blog of resources as a courtesy to people who are planning weddings.

My article was published today, with photos of our wedding shades and the shades we just did for someone's wedding coming up at The Brownstone in a week & a half:

What do you think about lighting as decor? Have you thought about it in a wedding setting?
