The turf "war" going on in Glen Rock has been big news, has tempers flaring, and friends on opposite sides of the fight. So, if you want to make sure you know what's going on and/or have something to say either way, show up. Here's the 411:

Numerous petitions were filed on June 19, 2014 with the Borough of Glen Rock by Stephanie Brennan, on behalf of the "Committee for the Repeal and Placement of Ordinance #1701 Before a Referendum of the Voters". As required by state law, the Borough has been examining the petitions. The petitions have been certified to contain the minimum requisite number of qualified voter signatures. More detail concerning the certification is contained in the attached letter from the Borough Clerk.
Ordinance #1701 is the funding ordinance for the installation of an artificial turf field at Lower Faber.
A Special Work Session of the Mayor and Council has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Conference Room of the Municipal Building to discuss next steps following this certification of the petitions. Formal action may be taken.
